Mendi exists to make every brain healthier. Our system combines neurofeedback brain training with lifestyle recommendations to give everyone the ability to improve their brain health and mental well-being. We give users the power to visualize, measure and enhance their brain activity, and we make regular brain training engaging and fun.

We are on a mission to improve the brain health of ten million people over the next five years. Our journey started with very successful crowdfunding Kickstarter & Indiegogo campaigns. Since our launch last year, we have reached a net worth of about €3 million thanks to our 10,000 early adopters from the entire world. Mendi became the most funded Kickstarter project globally in the history of such categories as brain and mental health. We are now at the beginning of an exciting and incredible growth phase and this is where you come in. 

We are looking for an experienced Director of Growth who will be a critical part of marketing and product development and will plan, organize and oversee all our growth marketing efforts. As a member of the Management team, you will ensure that all our marketing activities serve our objectives, strategy, and, ultimately, our mission.

The area of responsibility for this role is wide and thus we are looking for a senior Growth leader with thorough knowledge of the most successful growth strategies that drive revenue for high-growth startups. With the Head of Brand and Comms reporting to you, you will also oversee consumer facing areas such as brand perception, advertising and PR.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing on our overall marketing and growth strategy to rapidly scale the organization in the short and long-term
  • Full-stack growth hacking - rapid experimentation across multiple channels, CRO, A/B testing, etc
  • Taking responsibility for Growth across the full funnel - from awareness at the top down to revenue at the bottom end
  • Working in close partnership with the Head of Product to build in-app engagement and referral loops as well as defining our in-app content strategy to drive subscriptions and deeper engagement
  • Collaborating with teams like Product, Customer Success, Operations, and Engineering on a multi-channel revenue strategy
  • Overseeing PR, brand and content marketing to accelerate growth in partnership with the Head of Brand and Comms
  • Hiring, developing and leading a team of world-class Marketing and Growth experts with a culture of big bold ideas, ambitious targets, testing, analysis, and learning to discover new and innovative ways to grow and scale marketing efforts
  • Leading strategic planning for the marketing activities and budget by working as part of the Management team on business goals, top line growth and budget planning.
  • Evaluating overall marketing performance on a regular basis, building dashboards for measuring and sharing results on business-critical KPIs related to growth and sales

We think you are:

  • Someone with a proven track record of driving Growth as a discipline and scaling businesses through multiple channels and strategies (Product, Marketing, Partnerships, etc)
  • Not the typical senior marketing professional - while we expect you to have a clear understanding of key marketing principles, you understand the clear distinctions between Growth Hacking and Growth Marketing as it relates to startups
  • An inspirational leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of developing, managing, mentoring and motivating a high-performing marketing team
  • A strong strategic thinker, capable of analyzing and interpreting data to translate into sharp strategies - and communicating them effectively across the organization
  • A highly organized “doer,” with a mentality of letting the data speak for itself
  • Experienced working within or overseeing such areas as:
    • Marketing strategy, balancing short-term sales results and long-term brand building
    • Performance marketing across the full DTC marketing funnel and marketing mix
    • Product marketing
    • Agency management
  • Experienced with startups (ideally 10-50 people) and have an entrepreneurial spirit and “can-do” attitude
  • Someone with a BSc/BA in business/marketing/management or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
  • Fluent in English

This is a full-time position. Mendi is a remote-friendly employer, but we strongly prefer candidates with the ability to work from our office in Stockholm at least a day per week. We are reviewing candidates on an ongoing basis. The start date is flexible, but the right candidate can join Mendi immediately.
